 MINING ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Engineering education, particularly in Mining discipline which is available only in few institutions in the country, is a special feature of this institution. The department is well equipped with sophisticated laboratories like.

  4. Mining Environment & Safety Lab.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

This branch is well equipped with sophisticated equipments & models in different laboratories such as :

  1. I.C. Engine Lab.

  2. Hydraulics lab.

  3. Refrigeration & air Conditioning Lab.

  4. Hydraulic Machine Lab.

  5. Applied mechanics lab.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

The electrical Engineering department is well equipped with advanced equipments. The department has following Labs to impart practical training to the students.

METALLURGICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Under the 1st phase of World bank assisted project, this branch was introduced. It is well equipped with latest equipments & machineries, the different laboratories are

  4. Heat Treatment Lab.

DRILLING ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

O.S.M.E., Keonjhar is the only institute of the country producing diploma holders in Drilling Engineering. The department is well equipped with the advanced equipment and departmental laboratories like,

    1. Drilling Machinery lab.

    2. Engine Testing Lab.

     3. Mud and Cement Chemistry Lab.

WORKSHOP

The Workshop, which was modernized with sophisticated equipments from world Bank project, has following sections.

  4. Turning with C.N.C. Facility

  5. Machine Shop

MATH & SC. DEPARTMENT

Mathematics & Science Department is well equipped with modern equipments and models in different laboratories such as :

GEOLOGY LAB.

It is the finest & oldest Lab in our state with collection of various minerals, rocks & structural models.

TRAINING & PLACEMENT DEPARTMENT.

There is training & placement department headed by the Training Superintendent to look after the training needs of the students and their placement. This department is maintaining interaction with medium & large industries & Mining establishments in the state. This department also arranges campus interviews for all branches of engineering with organizations insides and outside the state.

Our faculties are highly experienced and qualified in B.Tech./M.Tech/M.Sc. degree.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Admission to 3 year Diploma course is made through Diploma Entrance Test conducted by Director of Tech. Education & Training Orissa every year. I.T.I., students gain entry to the course through D.E.T.(Lateral Entry) every year.

 

STUDENT ACTIVITIES

Diverse and vibrant activities are an integral part of life of student community of O.S.M.E.. They provide to shape their goals outside their studies. They participate in annual sports, cultural events, quiz in inter technical competitions. Interacting meetings with eminent persons from industries are regular feature of the institution from time to time. Every student goes for a 1 year PDPT training at the end of the final diploma.
